Join us this Saturday, January 11, from 12-2 PM for a special Art Talk with Mark Nelson @gringolandia22 , one of the featured artists in our current exhibition, Embrace of Comfort.
A Chicago-based artist and musician with deep roots in the historic Pilsen neighborhood, Mark will share insights into his artistic journey spanning over 25 years. His projects, ranging from paintings and installations to sculptural forms and video, reflect a lifetime dedicated to culture, community, and creativity.
Mark will bring some of his hand-built banjos and guitars, each a unique piece of art inspired by his love for rhythm and blues and his exploration of primitive electric blues instruments. Attendees are welcome to try the instruments and experience their distinctive sounds firsthand!
