We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Shedd Aquarium for Plastic Free Restaurant Week to help curb plastic pollution as part of Plastic Free July.
This year, more than 20 local restaurants and cafes are partnering with @Shedd_Aquarium for this exciting event, making commitments to reduce plastic use. From July 12 – July 21, necessary & sufficient coffee is committed to eliminating plastic waste, since opening we have diverted over 43,000 pounds from landfill to healthy composted soil. We are Oceanic Global certified and Living Wage for US certified All of our take out containers are compostable as we near our zero waste goal. Plastic pollution is an issue that threatens the health of wildlife, their habitats, and greenspaces for people to connect to nature. In fact, 22 million pounds of plastic enter the Great Lakes every year!
We are doing our part to reduce plastic waste and inspire our community to act for our shared blue planet! Visit us for a one of our summer drink specials to act against plastic pollution. 🌊”
